The story behind the winner of Peek & Toland Charity Raffle for the Pansonic 55″ LED HDTV from A&B TV is a pretty cool one. One of our employees was selling raffle tickets outside of her church for the Peek & Toland Charity Raffle benefiting Children’s Home of the Mountains and the International Justice Mission. A woman approached our employee selling tickets and said she would like to donate to the charities, but she didn’t want to buy a ticket, “because she never won anything.” Our employee said she could donate if she would like, but she might as well fill out a ticket because she, “never knew what could happen.” The woman shrugged and filled out her $10.00 raffle ticket. To everyone’s surprise, the woman’s ticket was drawn from the thousands of tickets at the raffle. The woman’s very excited son came to pick up the brand new Pansonic 55″ LED HDTV for his mom and excitedly posed for this photo! I guess now the woman can’t say she’s never won anything! Very exciting and happy story!

Last night Peek & Toland celebrated the holiday season with Peek & Toland’s First Christmas Party and Fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Home of the Mountains in Saltillo, Mexico and the International Justice Mission. Due to the generosity and the kindness of all of those who donated to the silent auction or raffle, attended the Christmas Party, purchased raffle tickets, or bid on the silent auction items, Peek & Toland was able to raise over $12,000.00 for both organizations.
Donations included items from University of Texas Longhorn Football coach, Mac Brown, University of Texas Longhorn Basketball coach, Rick Barnes, former Longhorn Football players, Earl Campbell, Vince Young and Doug English. Donations were also provided by several local Austin businesses including Simply Radiant, LLC, A&B TV, Austin’s Pizza, the Alamo Drafthouse, Maudie’s Tex-Mex, the Eastside Cafe, Takoba, and local Austin band, Carrie Ann and the Apocalyptics.
Winners of the raffle took home 1.10 carat diamond earrings from Simply Radiant, LLC and a 55″ Panasonic LED HDTV from A&B TV. While winners of the silent auction took home various items, from autographed footballs and basketballs, to a private house concert, to a gift certificate for dinner and a movie. Every 5th Friday of the month, Peek and Toland closes its office for a team building day or community outreach effort. This past 5th Friday, the partners at Peek and Toland decided to organize an extra fun team building day at On Track Xperience, a raceway in Kyle, Texas. The Peek and Toland staff split into two groups, each group racing each other three times on ProKarts. Each ProKart was able to accomplish speeds of 65 mph, which made racing exhilarating and competitive. As you can see from the photos below, we had all had a great time!
