Juan Castro is a managing attorney working in Peek Toland & Castañeda PLLC’s immigration practice, specifically in the removal department. He earned his law degree from the St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where he was a student attorney, Dean’s Scholarship Recipient, and an avid and successful mock trial competitor. Juan received his Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from Letourneau University in Longview, Texas, where he was a Dean’s List recipient and a member of the University’s Men’s Soccer team.
Juan is a seasoned and practiced immigration attorney, having spent the majority of his legal career focused on helping immigrants. Prior to joining Peek Toland & Castañeda he served as a Staff Attorney for San Antonio Region Justice for Our Neighbors and the Director of Caritas Legal Services for Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio. Throughout his professional career, he has helped immigrants facing cancellation of removal proceedings before EOIR and assisted clients to navigate the cumbersome immigration legal process before USCIS in naturalization, adjustment of status, consular processing, VAWA, and U-Visa cases.
Juan has managed several legal offices throughout Central Texas and has a proven track record of leadership and advocacy for his clients. He is an active member of numerous non-profits and organizations, including RAICES, Catholic Charities, American Gateways, among others. Juan is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Texas and is fluent in Spanish.
